This is a fantastic up close card trick that requires about two minutes of preparation. After that it works itself, so much that you can even have a volunteer do all the work. By the time you finish reading this, you’ll know exactly how to do this trick so you can go out and practice on your friends. And if you can tell a good story along with this trick, so much the better.

Here’s how the trick will look to your contacts. You start out with three Jacks spread out across a table. You make up some elongated fable about how they are best associates, and always find each other. Then exaggerate about how they were somehow separated. Put one Jack on top of deck, one anywhere in the middle, and one on the bottom. Remember to give details that Jacks of magical powers of reunion.

Then ask your helper to cut the deck once. After they cut the deck, tell some more stories about how the Jacks continuously find each other no matter what happens. Then turn the deck over, and spread out the cards. Somewhere in the middle, the three Jacks will be together once again, amazing the crowd.

Here’s the secret. Before you begin, make sure to leave one Jack on top of the deck. That way, when you put one Jack on top, they’ll in reality be two Jacks on top of the deck. And when you put one Jack on the bottom, and your volunteer cuts the deck, they’ll inevitably be putting one Jack on top of two, so they will always be someplace in the deck.

Make sure when you do this to keep the focus on your tale, and use wide hand gestures and so on. Since the Jacks they find in the middle of the deck won’t be the same Jacks that were laid at the opening of the trick. But if you only lay them out long enough to show everyone that there are certainly three Jacks, and persist with your tale for a couple of minutes after you place them in the deck, they will most likely quickly not remember the accurate suits.

Of course, with some clever hand maneuvers you can do this trick again, but you run the risk of being detected, as they’ll be watching your hands much more directly. I’ve only been able to do this two or three times in a row before my spectators figured out what was going on. Nevertheless, this is a great trick to do if you’ve got a couple supplementary tricks up your sleeve, so to speak. Have fun.

This is a great up close magic trick that will quickly easily convince anybody that you have powerful psychic powers. It works great on both strangers as well as close friends, and you can do this at parties, bars or even people off the street if you are bold enough. The greatest part about this trick is that it is completely self working, meaning that you don’t have to do any sleight of hand or anything. This works of sheer mathematical probability, so even a five year old could do this trick.

Here’s how the ploy seems to your soon so be fascinated audience. You tell them that you have recently uncovered some dominant skills of psychic projection. You can position thoughts clandestinely in their mind. Of course, they don’t trust you, and they ask for a display, to which you fortuitously oblige.

You pull out a ordinary deck of cards, and open up the cards so that only you can see the cards. You spend a significant amount of psychic energy looking at the cards, and looking at your companion. Then you put the cards back into a standard stack, and tell the person to select any two cards, without naming the suit. Like ace, and queen, or ten and three, for example.

Once they pick out their two cards, you search through the deck, and show them that the two cards they chose are right next to each other. They will be stunned, and likely ask you to do this trick again. You go through the motions of looking at the cards, and projecting the numbers into their heads. Once again they choose two cards, and once again you show them their two cards are right next to each other in the deck.

The grounds this always works is due to absolute mathematical probability. Since they aren’t naming the suit of the card, and only the number, there is about a ninety percent chance that any two cards they pick will be next to each other, since when they choose two cards, their really choosing eight (two cards of four suits each). And just pure mathematics, the likelihood of any two of any eight cards in a deck being next to each other is about ninety percent.

Of course, the more you talk this trick up, the better. The more you imagine to project thoughts into their mind, and go through the motions of doing painful psychic projection the better. If you want you can make a friendly wager with them that you can accurately “project” the cards into to their head before the trick. Have fun with this.

Here’s a great card trick that will always impress them, and they will never figure out how you do it, unless of course you choose to tell them. This is great with both kids and adults. And it’s perfect to add your own story or personal patter to make it unique to yourself. They are plenty of ways to reveal this cool trick.

Here’s the essential trick, as it appears to your viewers. You hold a regular deck of cards, and fan it out, like they would think. Then you instruct them to choose a card, any card. They select card, and you tell them to consider it delicately, and present it to their friends. After they place it back in the deck, you bafflingly pluck it right out. They will be astonished, and think you have powerful psychic powers.

Here’s how to do the trick. While they are busily studying their card, you divide the deck, and generate a place for them to situate their card. All you need to do is take a speedy peak at the card that you will place on top of theirs. Just keep in mind this card, and once they place there’s in the deck, you’ll know precisely what card comes after. There are quite a few ways to reveal this trick.

The most obvious way is to simply imagine you are reading their mind while looking through the cards. Then when you get to there’s (which is next to the one you peaked at), you only pull it out. This alone will worth the price of admission. But wait, there’s more.

You can hunt through the deck, pretending to look for it. Once you get to there card, part and re stack the deck so their card is on top. Then place the deck face down on a board, say some magical language, tap the top, and there card will be on top. But wait, that’s not all, there’s one more powerful reveal.

Once you have their card on top, place the deck behind your back, or under the table. Then quickly take their card out, flip it over, and place it back in the deck, so it’s facing the opposite direction of all the other cards. Then imagine that you can’t guess their card, and get them to tell you which one it was. Then simply look through the deck, now with the cards face up, and there’s will be the only card that is face down. This is only a few ways to reveal their card, I’m sure you can think of many others. The more you can talk up your psychic powers of presumption before this trick, the better. You’ll have a stunned audience in no time, wanting to see more tricks. Have fun with this.

Here’s another great magic trick that never fails to baffle any audience. Because it’s done with money, it will be sure to quickly and powerfully grab anyone’s attention. This up close magic trick requires some preparation and some practice, but you’ll surely find that it’s worth it, as most people will not believe their eyes when they see this incredible trick.

Here’s how the trick will look to your willing spectators. You pull out a bill, any bill will do, but I suggest using just a dollar, as you will be cutting it in half. You clarify to the swarm that you have just learned some commanding currency magic from the gods of money, and you are going to give a demonstration. You pull out a dollar bill, and a pair of cutters.

As the swarm looks on with bated breath, you slash the dollar bill in half. You hold each half up individually for all to see, and with some magic words, and maybe a flourish of your magic wand, with each hand you magically make each cut half grow into a new, full dollar bill. You have just performed the ridiculous. You have cut a dollar bill in half, and each half has developed a new half, so now you have two dollars!

Here’s the secret. Before, you’ll need to gently arrange both bills. You take each bill, and gently swathe the center of each with a thin strip of rubber cement. Make sure to cover both sides. After you have finished covering each side with rubber cement, carefully dust the rubber cement with baby powder, or talcum powder.

When you pull out the “single” bill, it is actually two bills placed closely together. When you cut through each bill, you will have two halves that are connected by the rubber cement. So when you open out each half, they will look to be a single bill, when in fact it is two separate bills that are now glued together by the rubber cement.

This takes a bit of training, so make sure you rehearse with some regular paper. Of course, if you don’t like the idea of cutting real money in half, you can always use stage money, or monopoly money. Also it’s a decent idea to talk a good game prior to and after the trick. Another good idea is to quickly put both bills back in your pocket, where you have two more indistinguishable bills waiting, should anybody ask to inspect them. This works great at parties or bars, where folks are comfortable and having a good time. Have fun with this.

Here is a simple to learn magic trick that is considered a self working trick. This means that you don’t need to learn any sleight of hand or special gimmicks to get this trick to work. This is a great trick to use with kids, or adults or anyone that likes to see some goofy magic.

Here’s how the ruse looks to your startled observers. You have all the cards of the equivalent suit taken out of the deck. So you’ve got all the hearts, or clubs, or whatever. Have them prearranged in order, beginning from the ace, and ending with the king. If you are doing this with kids, you can even have them set the deck up for them.

Once you’ve got it set up, then you go through the deck once, showing them all that they are really in order, beginning from the ace, and ending at the king. If you like you can give them the short stack and have them ensure for themselves to make sure there is nothing odd going on.

Then clarify the deception to them. You have the stack face down. If they say “deal,” then you take one card off the top, and place it face down on the table, in a new stack. If they say “double deal” then you take two cards off the top, reverse the order and then place them face down in the same stack. Do this until you’ve gone through all the cards. Tell them that they have to keep in mind the new order that the cards are in. While they are busily trying to re estimate the order, you pick up the new stack, and begin to turn each card over one by one. They will be stunned to see that the cards are still in the same order, beginning from the ace, up to the king.

Most often, they will ask you to do it again, and again. And the cool part is, since this is a self working trick, they can do it themselves and it will still work. The reason it works should be clear once you do this a few times. If you take only one card off the top, and place it in the new stack, (deal), or take two cards, and reverse the order, placing them in the new stack (double deal) they still end up in the same order, no matter if you deal or double deal them. To see how this works, do the trick with all the cards facing up, and you’ll see how it works out.

This is unbelievable for kids of all ages, and several of them will never deduce how it works even after they do the trick themselves. Of course, you’ll occasionally run into a young theorist or natural mathematician who’ll see right through this trick and comprehend how it’s down. Nevertheless, this trick is magnificent for everlasting amounts of amusement, even with grownups. Have fun with this easy trick.

Here is a great street magic illusion that you can literally perform anywhere. This up close impromptu trick will catch them by complete surprise, and quickly make a lasting impression that is perfect for doing more magic, or simply starting a normal conversation.

This is how it looks to your audience. You walk up to them on the street, or to your friend, and say that something is wrong with your watch. Lately you\’ve noticed that timepieces that you touch immediately go crazy, and lose their ability to keep proper time. You ask to borrow their watch, so you can set yours. They\’ll think you\’re joking, and won\’t think too much of it.

At the same time you set your watch, get them to double check the correct time. They will, usually by looking at a clock on the wall or by checking with somebody else. You make sure they watch you set your watch, to ensure you\’ve got the right time. You thank them, and hand them their watch back, but explain to them that you\’ve somehow messed it up. You tell them to sandwich it between their hands, without looking at the face, and tell them to guess how far off their watch is from the correct time. Most people will guess five minutes or so, which means they\’ll be shocked to see their watch is off by around thirty minutes.

Here\’s the trick. First you need to choose somebody who\’s watch has a large stem that is easy to turn. You hold their watch in your left hand, and you\’re watch in your right. While you are focusing on setting your own watch, while they are concentrating on your watch, you quickly move their watch out of view and re-set the time. You can quickly do this when they look away to verify the correct time.

This illusion is heavily based on misdirection, and the skill of quickly changing the time on their watch with only your left hand. Obviously, you\’ll need to practice. If you have a watch that has a big stem, you can practice when you are watching TV, or doing something else that doesn\’t require your hands.

As for the misdirection, it\’s best to pretend you don\’t know what\’s going on. Begin the illusion as if you are genuinely asking them for the time, but concerned that you have a strange effect on time pieces. Obviously, if you say up front your going to do a magic trick involving their watch, they\’ll watch you more closely. This works great as a conversation starter at bars, parties or anybody you want to make a lasting impression on. Have fun.

Here\’s a fantastic up close magic trick that is easy to learn and powerfully impressive. You will quickly and readily convince your friends that you have psychic powers of telekinesis beyond their wildest imaginations. And it\’s also a great lead in to some other tricks, which will quickly make you the most popular person at the bar or party.

Here\’s how the trick will look to you friends. You\’re sitting around a table at a party or a bar, talking about whatever. You mention in an \”oh by the way,\” fashion that you\’ve recently picked up some telekinetic skills. They will naturally stop whatever they\’ve been talking about, and demand a demonstration. Of course, since you\’ve just learned these powerful skills, you can only move small objects. Of course, you tell them that you haven\’t learned to lift up pool tables or anything like that.

You produce a deck of cards, take one out at random, and place it on the back of your hand. You invoke the magical powers of Zeus, or your favorite god whenever you use your telekinetic powers, and the card magically starts to bend according to your powerful mental will. After the card has bent according to your immense psychic energy, you claim that you have only studied enough to bend one card, and you need a rest. Then you quickly steer the conversation back to whatever you were talking about before.

Here\’s the trick. Before you announce your special powers, rub some water on the back of the hand that you are going to place the card on. You\’ll need an inexpensive, non-laminated deck of cards. The cheap cards will be porous, and will naturally soak up that water that you have deftly rubbed on your hand. When it does this, it will naturally bend toward the curvature of your hand, amazing your friends in the process.

This is one of those tricks that require you talk a good game both before and after the illusion. If you only call attention to the card, and bend it for them, they\’ll likely know that something is up. But if you build it up, and tell an interesting story beforehand, (get it, before hand?) and quickly cover it up with another story after the fact, it will go over much better.

Of course, if you know any other simple card tricks (that don\’t require the whole deck, sine you\’ve just ruined one of the cards) this would be a great time to pull them out. There are many simple tricks that don\’t require you to be playing with the whole deck. This is a great introduction to some fantastic tricks that you can entertain your friends with, or if you get lucky, start to attract a crowd of eager onlookers. Have fun.

This classic illusion is a great trick that can quickly spice up any social conversation. It doesn\’t require any props or set up, and you can work it into the conversation so easily they won\’t know what happened.

This is how it will appear to your audience. You\’re standing around at a party, or sitting at a table. You mention that you have discovered a really strange hole in your pocket, and that you can\’t understand why it this strange problem follows you no matter what pair of pants you wear. People will naturally be confused, so you naturally volunteer to illustrate your strange problem to them.

You ask one of your friends for a specific coin. Ask them to mark it somehow so they know you\’re pulling a fast one. You take the coin, put it in your right pocket, and shake your right leg. Then you reach down, and pull the coin out from under your left leg. Bewildered, you give them the coin back, and explain you have no idea how this happens.

Here\’s the trick. When nobody is looking, you reach down and place a coin under your left foot. Later on you ask for the same coin described above. Then place it in your right pocket, and pull the their coin from under your left foot. But before you give it back to them, place it in your right pocket, as if you\’d forgotten you borrowed it from them. Quickly switch coins as soon as you stick your hand in your pocket. That way, the one you give back to them will be the one they marked.

This is a trick that is best done by itself, and best done without announcing you are doing any kind of tricks. You\’ll need to play along the whole time, and pretend you have no idea what is going on. No matter how much they press you, claim that you have no idea how or why this happens, only that it happens sometimes, and doesn\’t happen other times.

What is likely the trickiest part is how to introduce the topic without sounding too obvious once you\’ve hidden the coin under your shoe. Usually it works pretty well when you wait for somebody to talk about money, and then you can gently guide the conversation into losing money and what not. That way they\’ll have no idea you\’ve set this whole trick up. This trick is great for throwing a monkey wrench into an otherwise normal social conversation. Have fun with this.

This is a great magic trick that has been performed countless times by countless magicians. It never fails to amazing the audience, and is a great way to increase your magical charisma and authority. It works great as an up close trick, and is a great addition to other tricks. While not a standalone trick, this is a great addition to any repertoire.

Here\’s how the trick looks to your audience. You hold a regular coin in one hand, and a silk scarf in the other. Hand the scarf and the coin over to the crowd to inspect, and verify that they are not simple stage props. When they are convinced it is a normal scarf and coin, they return them to you.

The coin is in one hand, and the scarf is in the other. You drape the scarf over the coin, and say your favorite magic words, or wave your magic wand. When you pull the scarf back, the coin is gone, and you wave the scarf to show the coin is not hidden inside. The crowd is amazed, and you can quickly move on to your next trick with much more authority and social proof.

Here\’s how to do the actual trick. In the hand that you hold the coin with, have a rubber band around two of your fingers. When you place the scarf over that hand, you quickly wrap the scarf around the coin, and then quickly wrap the rubber band around the scarf, so that it covers up the coin. Then when hold the scarf, it will be completely concealing the coin, and they won\’t be able to see it.

The part of this trick where yo show the magic can be a little bit tricky. Obviously, if you hand the scarf back to the crowd, they\’ll discover the hidden coin. Also, if you wave the scarf around too much, they\’ll notice that the weight distribution is a little off. So just like many other tricks, being able to manage the crowds attention is of the utmost importance. Make sure to keep their focus on the hand the was holding the coin, and not the scarf. Quickly show them the scarf, and then focus your attention on your hand. If you focus on your hand, and not the scarf, so will your audience.

This is a fantastic illusion that goes great in a series of other tricks that are designed to increasingly amplify the crowd\’s excitement. Because this trick requires some props and a little bit of set up, it should\’ be the last trick in a set. This is best followed up quickly with some other tricks that you have planned. Have fun with this.

If you\’re ever in a bar or party and want to do a quick trick that will impress anybody, and get you a few drinks, this article is for you. This trick quickly and easily captivates anyone, and despite being incredibly simple to learn, nobody will figure out how you do this. This is a close up magic tricks, and only requires on simple prop that you can easily borrow from somebody if you don\’t have one. It\’s best done in an environment with some background noise.

Here\’s how the trick looks to your friends. You tell them you have recently developed some telekinetic abilities. You can tell them you were hit by lighting, or a lamp fell in the bathtub while you were taking a bath or something. You skills are fairly new, so you are still working out the kinks. You can only repel small objects with the power of thought. You haven\’t yet learned how to lift up X-Wing fighters like Yoda.

You ask if somebody has a cigarette. Put the cigarette on the table, and begin to summon your newly found telekinetic skills. Hold your hand cupped behind the cigarette, and it will mysteriously roll toward you. You place both hands on either side of the cigarette, and it moves away from you. Drop your hands, and head, and command somebody to bring you a beer so you can recharge your mental powers. If you\’re lucky, you\’ll be three sheets to the wind without paying a dime.

Here\’s the secret. When you have your hand cupped behind the cigarette, simply blow into your hand. Your breath will swirl from your hand, and push the cigarette. Holding both hands on either side of the cigarette, it will naturally roll away from you. Most people are afraid to try this to fear of getting caught, but it almost never happens. With the right set up, people will be looking at the cigarette and not your face.

It is a good idea to practice before hand, so you know exactly how to position your lips, and how to quickly blow without detection. Also make sure you aren\’t doing this in an area with any transient wind, like from an overhead fan or an open window. Like any other simple trick, this works best with a long, convoluted setup, and then quickly doing the trick and removing the prop. Be careful not to spend too much time \”in position\” than you have to. After a few practice sessions, you\’ll expertly be able to blow your breath without detection from others.

It goes without saying that the best place this works is in bars or parties, and when you are talking about something other than magic. Just covertly introduce the idea of you suddenly having psychic powers. Place the cigarette on the table in front of you, and get on with your patter for a while before you do the trick, that will increase their focus on the cigarette itself, and not you. A great way to cover yourself, is to act surprised every time the cigarette moves, as if you still can\’t believe your telekinetic powers. Have fun with this.
