So there you are, sitting there in the bar or club with your friends. You boldly mention that you can easily tear apart a pack of cards. Impossible they say. They demand to see the proof of such an incredible claim. You keep talking a good game, perhaps even attracting crowd of people. Everybody is wondering what is going on. You can see them talking, and pointing at you. They are telling each other that you are making the bold claim that you can tear a pack of cards in half.

Now you have got the whole crowd’s attention. You explain that you have lately had a vision, and the ghost of Hercules has loaned you his awesome energy for a period. And that you have determined to use his borrowed strength to captivate the masses rather than for individual gain. As you talk more and more, they grow to be more and more suspicious. Surely you are making this up. You produce a pack of everyday cards. Naturally, you shuffle them a couple of times, showing they are a standard deck of cards. You call on the strength of the gods one last time, and then very easily tear the cards in half, hurling them in the air. The audience is amazed, and you are a hero. The men will wish they were you, and the women will wish they were with you.

Certainly, this is an illusion, and here is how to do it. The deck will need to be set up before hand, so that it looks regular to the inexperienced eye, but is much less strong so you can simply tear it in half. You can do this a couple ways. The first way is to take a straight razor, and slash every other card midway across. Make sure the cards are all lined up, so that the slashes are all in the same spot. They will shuffle the same, but with every other card pre cut, you can effortlessly tear them.

Another way to organize the deck is to heat up the cards in an oven. They will grow to be more crisp this way, and will be much less difficult to tear, but won’t look any different. Furthermore, you can take every other card, and fold it back and forth a number of times. You’ll have to be mindful that each card has been folded in the exact same spot, or else they will be challenging to tear.

This trick works best when you are in the center of a few additional card tricks, although you don’t actually need to do it that way. It would just seem strange if you were to all of a sudden talk about tearing a deck of cards in half, and then not be able to do any tricks later on. You’re buddies might think it a bit unusual if you basically produced a deck of cards, tore them in half, and then started talking about sporting activities or something.

And as with any other strategy the way you build this up will have a significant impact on how pleased people will be. The more engaging a tale you can tell, the greater reaction you’ll get from the group. Mental power, alien strength, ghouls of magicians past are all great ways to add to the entertainment, and keep them from guessing the trick. For best results, fling the cards in the air right after you’ve torn them up. This will be significantly more amazing, and will be a fantastic diversion for whatever the subsequent trick is that you have up your sleeve. Enjoy yourself.

When you learn magic tricks you will learn magic revealed tricks

If you like to entertain people with simple card tricks, then it doesn’t get much easier than this. This is an incredible trick because this is one of the few tricks where you don’t even have to touch the deck.

Here’s how it looks to your audience. You turn your back, and tell them to pick any non face card. Ace through ten. Then have them put a number of cards on top of their chosen card, equal to the chosen card, on the top of the deck.

So if they pick a three, then they’d put three cards on top of the three, and then put this new stack of four cards on top of the deck.

Then you come into the room, or turn around, and ask them to spread the cards out on the table, from left to right, or right to left, or in a circle. Then, without touching the cards, you powerfully sneak into their mind and tell them which card they chose.

Most people can’t figure this trick out, even though it’s pretty simple. They have to be pretty good at reverse engineering to get this without you revealing this to them.

Once you learn this you’ll be amazed how easy it is. Once they start laying the cards out, start counting, but start from the second card.

As soon as you get to a card where the card’s number is the same as your secret mental count, that’s their card. The best way to do this is quickly and silently, while they are laying the cards out. That gives you more time to do your psychic impression.

This trick works well at parties, when you can actually give them the instructions, including laying out the cards when they are finished. That way you can walk into the room, glance briefly at the table where they’ve laid their cards, and put on your mind reading show.

Be forewarned, as there is about a ten percent chance that two cards will actually match up with your mental count. Don’t worry, you can play this off pretty easily. Pick which ever card you like, and then choose it as their card. If you’re wrong, they’ll question your mental powers, and start giving you a hard time, which is when you say “just kidding,” and then pick their real card right away, as if you knew what it was all along.

Have fun with this. This is a great trick to do with kids, as they can learn it quickly and show it to their friends.

When you learn magic tricks you’ll discover easy magic

This is a fantastic up close card trick that requires about two minutes of preparation. After that it works itself, so much that you can even have a volunteer do all the work. By the time you finish reading this, you’ll know exactly how to do this trick so you can go out and practice on your friends. And if you can tell a good story along with this trick, so much the better.

Here’s how the trick will look to your contacts. You start out with three Jacks spread out across a table. You make up some elongated fable about how they are best associates, and always find each other. Then exaggerate about how they were somehow separated. Put one Jack on top of deck, one anywhere in the middle, and one on the bottom. Remember to give details that Jacks of magical powers of reunion.

Then ask your helper to cut the deck once. After they cut the deck, tell some more stories about how the Jacks continuously find each other no matter what happens. Then turn the deck over, and spread out the cards. Somewhere in the middle, the three Jacks will be together once again, amazing the crowd.

Here’s the secret. Before you begin, make sure to leave one Jack on top of the deck. That way, when you put one Jack on top, they’ll in reality be two Jacks on top of the deck. And when you put one Jack on the bottom, and your volunteer cuts the deck, they’ll inevitably be putting one Jack on top of two, so they will always be someplace in the deck.

Make sure when you do this to keep the focus on your tale, and use wide hand gestures and so on. Since the Jacks they find in the middle of the deck won’t be the same Jacks that were laid at the opening of the trick. But if you only lay them out long enough to show everyone that there are certainly three Jacks, and persist with your tale for a couple of minutes after you place them in the deck, they will most likely quickly not remember the accurate suits.

Of course, with some clever hand maneuvers you can do this trick again, but you run the risk of being detected, as they’ll be watching your hands much more directly. I’ve only been able to do this two or three times in a row before my spectators figured out what was going on. Nevertheless, this is a great trick to do if you’ve got a couple supplementary tricks up your sleeve, so to speak. Have fun.

This is a great up close magic trick that will quickly easily convince anybody that you have powerful psychic powers. It works great on both strangers as well as close friends, and you can do this at parties, bars or even people off the street if you are bold enough. The greatest part about this trick is that it is completely self working, meaning that you don’t have to do any sleight of hand or anything. This works of sheer mathematical probability, so even a five year old could do this trick.

Here’s how the ploy seems to your soon so be fascinated audience. You tell them that you have recently uncovered some dominant skills of psychic projection. You can position thoughts clandestinely in their mind. Of course, they don’t trust you, and they ask for a display, to which you fortuitously oblige.

You pull out a ordinary deck of cards, and open up the cards so that only you can see the cards. You spend a significant amount of psychic energy looking at the cards, and looking at your companion. Then you put the cards back into a standard stack, and tell the person to select any two cards, without naming the suit. Like ace, and queen, or ten and three, for example.

Once they pick out their two cards, you search through the deck, and show them that the two cards they chose are right next to each other. They will be stunned, and likely ask you to do this trick again. You go through the motions of looking at the cards, and projecting the numbers into their heads. Once again they choose two cards, and once again you show them their two cards are right next to each other in the deck.

The grounds this always works is due to absolute mathematical probability. Since they aren’t naming the suit of the card, and only the number, there is about a ninety percent chance that any two cards they pick will be next to each other, since when they choose two cards, their really choosing eight (two cards of four suits each). And just pure mathematics, the likelihood of any two of any eight cards in a deck being next to each other is about ninety percent.

Of course, the more you talk this trick up, the better. The more you imagine to project thoughts into their mind, and go through the motions of doing painful psychic projection the better. If you want you can make a friendly wager with them that you can accurately “project” the cards into to their head before the trick. Have fun with this.

Here’s a great card trick that will always impress them, and they will never figure out how you do it, unless of course you choose to tell them. This is great with both kids and adults. And it’s perfect to add your own story or personal patter to make it unique to yourself. They are plenty of ways to reveal this cool trick.

Here’s the essential trick, as it appears to your viewers. You hold a regular deck of cards, and fan it out, like they would think. Then you instruct them to choose a card, any card. They select card, and you tell them to consider it delicately, and present it to their friends. After they place it back in the deck, you bafflingly pluck it right out. They will be astonished, and think you have powerful psychic powers.

Here’s how to do the trick. While they are busily studying their card, you divide the deck, and generate a place for them to situate their card. All you need to do is take a speedy peak at the card that you will place on top of theirs. Just keep in mind this card, and once they place there’s in the deck, you’ll know precisely what card comes after. There are quite a few ways to reveal this trick.

The most obvious way is to simply imagine you are reading their mind while looking through the cards. Then when you get to there’s (which is next to the one you peaked at), you only pull it out. This alone will worth the price of admission. But wait, there’s more.

You can hunt through the deck, pretending to look for it. Once you get to there card, part and re stack the deck so their card is on top. Then place the deck face down on a board, say some magical language, tap the top, and there card will be on top. But wait, that’s not all, there’s one more powerful reveal.

Once you have their card on top, place the deck behind your back, or under the table. Then quickly take their card out, flip it over, and place it back in the deck, so it’s facing the opposite direction of all the other cards. Then imagine that you can’t guess their card, and get them to tell you which one it was. Then simply look through the deck, now with the cards face up, and there’s will be the only card that is face down. This is only a few ways to reveal their card, I’m sure you can think of many others. The more you can talk up your psychic powers of presumption before this trick, the better. You’ll have a stunned audience in no time, wanting to see more tricks. Have fun with this.

Here’s another great magic trick that never fails to baffle any audience. Because it’s done with money, it will be sure to quickly and powerfully grab anyone’s attention. This up close magic trick requires some preparation and some practice, but you’ll surely find that it’s worth it, as most people will not believe their eyes when they see this incredible trick.

Here’s how the trick will look to your willing spectators. You pull out a bill, any bill will do, but I suggest using just a dollar, as you will be cutting it in half. You clarify to the swarm that you have just learned some commanding currency magic from the gods of money, and you are going to give a demonstration. You pull out a dollar bill, and a pair of cutters.

As the swarm looks on with bated breath, you slash the dollar bill in half. You hold each half up individually for all to see, and with some magic words, and maybe a flourish of your magic wand, with each hand you magically make each cut half grow into a new, full dollar bill. You have just performed the ridiculous. You have cut a dollar bill in half, and each half has developed a new half, so now you have two dollars!

Here’s the secret. Before, you’ll need to gently arrange both bills. You take each bill, and gently swathe the center of each with a thin strip of rubber cement. Make sure to cover both sides. After you have finished covering each side with rubber cement, carefully dust the rubber cement with baby powder, or talcum powder.

When you pull out the “single” bill, it is actually two bills placed closely together. When you cut through each bill, you will have two halves that are connected by the rubber cement. So when you open out each half, they will look to be a single bill, when in fact it is two separate bills that are now glued together by the rubber cement.

This takes a bit of training, so make sure you rehearse with some regular paper. Of course, if you don’t like the idea of cutting real money in half, you can always use stage money, or monopoly money. Also it’s a decent idea to talk a good game prior to and after the trick. Another good idea is to quickly put both bills back in your pocket, where you have two more indistinguishable bills waiting, should anybody ask to inspect them. This works great at parties or bars, where folks are comfortable and having a good time. Have fun with this.

Here is a simple to learn magic trick that is considered a self working trick. This means that you don’t need to learn any sleight of hand or special gimmicks to get this trick to work. This is a great trick to use with kids, or adults or anyone that likes to see some goofy magic.

Here’s how the ruse looks to your startled observers. You have all the cards of the equivalent suit taken out of the deck. So you’ve got all the hearts, or clubs, or whatever. Have them prearranged in order, beginning from the ace, and ending with the king. If you are doing this with kids, you can even have them set the deck up for them.

Once you’ve got it set up, then you go through the deck once, showing them all that they are really in order, beginning from the ace, and ending at the king. If you like you can give them the short stack and have them ensure for themselves to make sure there is nothing odd going on.

Then clarify the deception to them. You have the stack face down. If they say “deal,” then you take one card off the top, and place it face down on the table, in a new stack. If they say “double deal” then you take two cards off the top, reverse the order and then place them face down in the same stack. Do this until you’ve gone through all the cards. Tell them that they have to keep in mind the new order that the cards are in. While they are busily trying to re estimate the order, you pick up the new stack, and begin to turn each card over one by one. They will be stunned to see that the cards are still in the same order, beginning from the ace, up to the king.

Most often, they will ask you to do it again, and again. And the cool part is, since this is a self working trick, they can do it themselves and it will still work. The reason it works should be clear once you do this a few times. If you take only one card off the top, and place it in the new stack, (deal), or take two cards, and reverse the order, placing them in the new stack (double deal) they still end up in the same order, no matter if you deal or double deal them. To see how this works, do the trick with all the cards facing up, and you’ll see how it works out.

This is unbelievable for kids of all ages, and several of them will never deduce how it works even after they do the trick themselves. Of course, you’ll occasionally run into a young theorist or natural mathematician who’ll see right through this trick and comprehend how it’s down. Nevertheless, this trick is magnificent for everlasting amounts of amusement, even with grownups. Have fun with this easy trick.
